OK, so I'm setting myself up for derision again, I know, but even after all the "AGGH MY EYES"- type comments in reaction to the shoes I trialled the other day, I was still undecided about them and thought I'd give them a second chance. I wouldn't walk around like this as it's too chilly, but I think this is a vast improvement on my first styling idea. I like the chunky socks, which were from my cousin and have llamas on them. They are from South America and therefore have nothing at all to do with anything Tyrolean, but maybe I was confusing them with goats or something, because I was somehow feeling a sort of Heidi vibe with this outfit, which is why I'm wearing
*fascinating trivia - one of my cats used to love it when I whistled "Edelweiss", even with my crappy whistling skills. Maybe she was Austrian in a past life? Another cat used to get very, um, excited when my mum whistled "Some Enchanted Evening" from the musical South Pacific. Does your pet have a favourite tune? (Suki has not demonstrated any musical inclinations, or maybe she just doesn't want to encourage any bursting into song on my part).
I say rather hesitantly as I don't want to open you up for public derision that I quite like this look...still hate the color (it's such a sad looking brown) but I think the socks are really fab!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...yes this works. Because no one will be looking at the shoes!!!! Your legs honey, your legs. Do they ever end?
ReplyDeleteSporrans??? Must check this out...
You're gorgeous, your legs look fantastic... but still a no to the shoes :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a cunning ploy, distracting the world from the shoes with your a-mazing legs but...set the shoes free!! I would be so impressed if you found lederhosen in an op-shop - worthy of a gold medal.
ReplyDeleteCat trivia - Mia loves the song that goes 'why do birds suddenly appear...etc' even though i can't hit the high notes. Also this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpA2tMrQ4RU
makes her go hyper (doesn't take much..!)
I love everything about this outfit, except for those damn shoes. Hon, ya can't save 'em. If you're going to keep them, you're just going to have to go with crazy-i-am-keeping-my-shoes bravado. :)
ReplyDeleteI actually think your shoes are kinda cute but as usual I'd like them better if they were black. I say if you like 'em, wear 'em!
ReplyDeleteI love the socks more than the shoes...but i'm not aghast by them either. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great tips on Japan, I'm going to learn both Katakana and Hiragana I've decided. That town also looks awesome, thanks for the recommendation, I'm planning on hitting it up soon! :)
Thanks all, I'm loving all the comments, whether you love or hate these shoes (although, um, no one actually likes them except Caz, and even she doesn't like the colour!).
ReplyDeleteClare, that would be a great song for a cat, (Close to You, I mean).. it is their dream that birds suddenly appear every time they are near! YouTube clip was funny but I couldn't listen to the sound :(
Those shoes are great. Perfect for work and completing various tasks. I used to blog at FabBlab, but I don't any more. This is my new blog, www.seren-dip-a-tea.blogspot.com. Please follow :D
ReplyDeleteWonderful look, the colors are divine, and error-free statement
ReplyDeleteAdam,

Much better with those socks! No "aggghh my eyes" from me now! :) I love the outfit as well :)
ReplyDeleteWell I'm still not convinced about the shoes but I love the idea of the pendant threaded with the scarf I have quite a few odd pendanty type things that are in need of something this might be just the ticket. Will let you know when I post my 10 things. Oh and am I supposed to tag it forward?
ReplyDeleteYes Kylie, you're meant to tag 5 other people... but short of going to their blogs and telling them, I don't know how this works.. if you have REALLY regular readers they will just realise they're tagged when they read your post I suppose...
ReplyDeletere the colour - my dad did a lot of colouring white shoes black which worked pretty well (13 pairs of white florsheim shoes @ $5 each kept him going for a good decade, but white wasn't really him). But I think these shoes are just too big, not loving them, though they look better with the socks.
